Germany’s Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has again reported an increase in seven-day incidence nationwide, setting a new record. The RKI gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Monday morning as 528.2. For comparison, the previous day the value had been 515.7, and a week ago 375.7 (previous month: 413.7). Health offices in Germany reported 34,145 new Corona infections to the RKI within one day. A week ago, there were 25,255 infections.

Across Germany, 30 deaths were recorded within 24 hours, according to the new data. A week ago, there had been 52 deaths. The RKI counted 8,000,122 confirmed infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the start of the pandemic, but the actual total is likely to be much higher because many infections go undetected.

The number of Corona patients admitted to hospitals per 100,000 population in a seven-day period was reported Friday by the RKI at 3.23 (Thursday 3.09, Wednesday 3.13). It was the first increase in several days. It will not be published over the weekend.
